Configurations, The Banff Centre
Choreography by D.S.Hoskins, 2004
This ballet was a beautiful deconstruction of space, body and movement, symbolized by a fragmented tutu, moving from an aerial sun, down to the body of a dancer.
I was inspired the by the great works of Alexander Calder. The tutu was created with welded metal petals that could be folded into he body of the garment. The transition from sky to body was an exquisite dance of the tutu itself, each arm buoyant and graceful until placed into its final position on the body.
